NESH Series – The First 30 Years!

Live-Stream Course for NESH Alumni

Many of you over the years have asked if it would be possible to offer Live-Stream classes for NESH alumni who are not able to attend our Clinical Class weekends in-person. COVID-19 has created a new reality for all of us, and has also challenged NESH to think outside the box. We were excited to launch a new series of Live-Stream classes in 2020 only for our NESH alumni called – NESH: The First 30 Years!

WHAT STUDENTS ARE SAYING ABOUT THIS COURSE

This series focuses on the day-to-day life and practice of the classical homeopath. Specifically, going into more detail on each of the processes that the homeopath undertakes. We explore what works and what does not work in the real world, using paper cases as the vehicle to illustrate specific points and refine technique. This is only open to NESH alumni.

Each Session of this course meets for a total of 6 hours (in two 3 hour Parts). We expect to have participants join us from across the globe and have done our best to select times for the LIVE Sessions which could work for everyone but you can always join us on-demand if the times don’t work for you. Ask about CEU’s!

These Case-Based Sessions each stand on their own and do not need to be done sequentially. Sessions #1-4 are still available if you missed them, but completing them is not necessary before joining us for Session #5.

TOPIC:  A Structured Discussion on the Approach to Post COVID Health Challenges. We have spoken about the prevention of severe forms of COVID-19 infections, as well as the treatment of the acute infections, AT LENGTH! As well we have spoken at various times on the aftereffects of illness. But I think it is time to have a full structured discussion on the topic. We hope to describe in clear fashion a useful way to consider and tackle the situation at hand. We’ll use case reports (including at least one live patient) to delve into the overall topic which is rapidly turning into a very confusing situation. The hope is that it prepares us to provide the best care for our patients, by discussing common presentations and diving into remedies/materia medica and the repertory.

The reality is there is no avoiding this topic right now. Even beyond the patients who are coming in now with symptoms, we’ll need to understand how to handle patients 3 months down the line, some who say this or that symptom of theirs is from having COVID or is from having gotten the vaccine, etc. Anyone who is in practice is going to need to figure out what’s what and how to deal with the mess that exists now and will exist in the coming months in a rational and coherent way.

Session #5A (first 3 hours) Saturday May 7, 2022: Noon – 3pm Eastern Time (9am-noon Pacific)
Topic: Post Acute COVID-19 Syndrome with 5 cases, including one live case where cardiac issues were the prominent feature. Also explored the topic of hair loss and the materia medica of Bothrops.

LIVE Session #5B (second 3 hours) Saturday May 21, 2022: Noon – 3pm Eastern Time (9am-noon Pacific)

* Recorded RE-RUN’s will be available for a limited time on-demand only for those unable to join us live.

The course recording for Session #4 is also available in German (course text in Portal is however in English).

TOPIC:  Hysteria/Conversion Disorder, the Disquiet Mind, and Imperfect Disease

We have spoken about Anxiety and Related Disorders at length previously, but want to tackle a growing issue of the disquiet mind, the utter overwhelm, and broad reaching fallout from the stress response that has become ubiquitous in our times. We’ll use case reports to delve into the overall topic of what was formerly really poorly described and ascribed as hysteria, which some now diagnose as conversion disorder, by discussing common presentations and diving into remedies/materia medica and the repertory. It is 2021, and see this as a timely and important topic.

Separately, or relatedly, we will begin our session with one very specific difficult issue: The uniquely odd situation of those nearing death exemplified by the COVID-19 emergency crisis. We’ll explore what you are likely to see and how to understand and deal with this situation. There is a relationship between these two topics, which we will further explore in class in the way some patients sometimes change symptoms as they near death.

Session 4 – Part A: (first 3 hours) – recording also available in German
Topic: Imperfect Disease with 3 COVID-19 cases where severe diarrhea was the prominent feature plus materia medica of Aloe, Croton tiglium, Gambogia, Gratiola, and Podophyllum
